What inventory management software does
Inventory management software keeps a running count of what you have, where it is, and what it is worth, and updates it every time stock comes in or goes out. Done properly it answers three questions without a trip to the store room: what do I have, what is running out, and where did the difference go.
Stock you can trust, branch by branch
Because the till and the stock list are the same system, a sale takes stock off the shelf at that moment. Nobody has to key it in twice. Each branch has its own counts, and the owner can look at one branch or all of them together.
- Every change to a product is logged with who made it and when
- Per-branch stock, so a shortage in one place is not hidden by a surplus in another
- A stock list that agrees with the money taken, so a gap shows up instead of hiding
Alerts before it hurts
Low stock alerts tell you what to reorder before the shelf is empty, and expiry alerts show what is close to going off while there is still time to sell it. Both are raised for the branch that has the problem, so the right person sees them.
Moving stock between branches
A transfer leaves one branch and lands at the other in one step, with no separate receiving form to forget. If you buy in cartons and sell loose by weight, the conversion is handled: send the cartons, weigh what arrives, and both branches' counts stay right.
Losses you can see
Every write-off carries its reason, such as theft, damage, spoilage or expiry, and is tracked apart from ordinary stock corrections. You can see what shrinkage really costs by branch, instead of it disappearing into adjustments.
- Returns refund what the customer actually paid, not a recalculated price
- Goods that come back damaged are written off rather than quietly going back on the shelf
Suppliers and what you owe them
Record deliveries, log payments and see a running balance for each supplier. Money handed over at the door counts the same as one entered later, and payments settle the oldest debt first.
How to get started
- Upload your product list from Excel or CSV. A shop with hundreds of products can be live in minutes.
- Record deliveries against your suppliers as stock arrives.
- Sell. Stock updates itself with every sale, return and transfer.
- Check low stock, expiring products and write-offs on your dashboard.
